SOMERSET COUNTY PARK COMMISSION OFFERS FREE CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING
RESIDENTS CAN DISPOSE OF THEIR TREES TO HELP SAVE MONEY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
 

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ The Somerset County Park Commission is, once again, hosting a free, live Christmas tree recycling program until the end of January 2022. Mulch and chips produced from the recycled trees are used throughout the park to protect and nurture plant life. Mulch will be available at drop-off sites on a first-come, first-serve basis for residents who are recycling their trees.

DROP-OFF LOCATIONS

Trees can be dropped off seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., until Jan. 31, 2022, at the following two locations:

  • Colonial Park Gardens located on 156 Mettlers Road, Parking Lot F, Franklin Township
  • North Branch Park located on 355 Milltown Road at the lighted baseball field, Bridgewater

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING GUIDELINES

  • Only one tree per family will be accepted
  • Trees must be free of ornaments, wires, netting, and tinsel
  • Wreaths and garlands will NOT be accepted 
  • Group deliveries and trees from dealers will NOT be accepted

Hearing and speech-impaired individuals can call the Relay Service at 711 from 8 a.m. to  3 p.m., Monday to Friday (except holidays).
